How Long Should I Keep Financial Records?
Although it can be tempting to throw away documents that are a couple years old, or to stuff them into a random desk drawer, it’s important to keep your paperwork as organized as possible. Keeping your financial documents organized will help you file future tax returns, and allows you to easily find documents should the government ask for them. We have provided the following guides so that you can easily see how long you should hold on to certain documents.
What Is The PTC Rebate?
PTC refers to the Property Tax/ Rent/ Head Credit rebate. This is a special rebate that has been available since 1971 to provide extra benefits to eligible Coloradans.
You may be eligible to receive the PTC rebate if you identify with one or more of the following requirements:
- Resided in Colorado for the entire year
- You are at least 65 years of age
- You are a surviving spouse and at least 58 years of age
- Your are differently-abled
- You are not claimed as a dependent on anyone’s federal income tax return
